Student of the Week: Peter Kim
Peter Kim is an outstanding individual in both school and athletics. Peter is a very outgoing, polite, and dedicated person. He is currently enrolled in four AP classes, involved in Student Council and NHS, while also playing tennis year round. He is a great example of what a good student should be and that is why he was chosen for student of the week.
The Centinal: What are your hobbies?
Peter: My hobbies are hanging with my friends, listening to music, and playing tennis.
The Centinal: What colleges are you applying to?
Peter: I am applying to Stanford, Washington University in St. Louis, Columbia, UC Berekely, Northwestern, U of I, Cornell, UCLA, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Michigan, Dartmouth, and Brown.
The Centinal: Do you want to play tennis in college?
Peter: I absolutely love tennis, and it’s a part of my life I can’t live without. My hope for college is to be accepted to Wash U and walk on their team.
The Centinal: Whats your favorite class?
Peter: My favorite class is AP BC Calculus because it challenges me the most, and I am good at math.
The Centinal: Whats your hardest class?
Peter: AP BC Calculus is also my hardest class.
The Centinal: How far do you plan on making it in tennis this year? Singles? Doubles?
Peter: My plan for tennis is to qualify for state with my doubles partner Andrew Scaggs and perform our very best there. As far as singles goes, I hope to win conference and have my best season record yet.
The Centinal: How do you like to study?
Peter: I like to do homework with music, however when I really need to study I get rid of all distractions.
The Centinal: How do you balance school and sports?
Peter: Balancing school and sports is really difficult since I am so committed to both of them. I know that academic performance is what will make me go far in life so I put a lot of pressure on myself to do well in school. However, I am much more passionate about tennis.
