Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington), ex-cop and escaped criminal, stands on a ledge of a 21 story high building as he threatens to fling his body from a Manhattan hotel rooftop. Man on a Ledge, directed by Asger Leth, is the story of a man seemingly about to commit suicide, but ultimately, has a whole other plot brewing underneath the surface. He has a covert ulterior motive-to prove his innocence and unveil the true criminal. As crowds gather below him, he demands his retrial and initiates his testimony. While his brother (Jamie Bell), and the girlfriend (Genesis Rodriguez), attempt to retrieve justice for Cassidy by breaking into a jewelry deposit teeming with security enforcements, Cassidy’s job is to convince Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks) of his innocence and clear all suspicion of his name while drawing attention away from the jewelry heist simultaneously happening right next door.
