Everybody knows a person’s wedding day should be perfect. Unfortunately for the Hollywood actress Lara Tyler (Alice Eve), that isn’t the case. Her wedding with the author James Arber (David Tennant) was marked to be the wedding of the century, and so many paparazzi wanted to photograph it. Lara and James end up canceling the wedding after Marco Ballani (Frederico Castelluccio), a paparazzo, is found inside the church they were going to get married in.

As a result, the couple’s agent Steve (Michael Urie) takes them to the isolated Hegg Island in Scotland to get married without the press in the way. Somehow, the press ends up going to the island, and Lara runs away to hide from the paparazzi. Steve then has the brilliant idea to fake a wedding to distract the press while they look for Lara. He hires a local girl named Katie (Kelly Macdonald) to be the decoy bride. In a terrible misunderstanding, Katie actually marries James. Now it’s up to James and Katie to get divorced and find Lara before the press finds out and makes this supposed special day even worse.
