Charger Café’s Recipe for Success

Centennial’s Entrepreneurship and Advanced Culinary Arts classes started the Charger Cafė this semester so they could create a business and see how it was run.  It allowed the students to serve the teachers and administration breakfast, which usually included iced mochas and egg casserole.  Connie Brillhart, who teaches Entrepreneurship and Caitlin O’Grady, who teaches Culinary Arts, came together to create the café and modeled it after one that they saw at Schaumburg High School.   It started shortly after the semester began and will continue in 2013 with the Marketing class replacing Entrepreneurship. Student of the Week: Nick Finke

Nick Finke is only a freshman here at Centennial, but has already managed to find what it takes to be a great student. It could be that he takes after his brother, Michael Finke, a past student of the week. In his first semester at Centennial Nick has already managed to be involved with the freshmen basketball team, student council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. On top of that he has managed to get good grades in what can sometimes be an overwhelming first semester of high school. For these reasons Nick Finke has been selected as Student of the Week. Life of Pi Movie Release

Life of Pi, a fantasy adventure novel written by Yann Martel published in 2001, has become a groundbreaking movie event and exploded to life on the big screen on November 21, 2012. Directed by Ang Lee and written by David Magee, this film features Suraj Sharma and Irrfan Khan as Pi Patel, an Indian boy from Pondicherry who pursuits issues of spirituality and practicality from an early age.
