Speech Team on the Path to State

The Speech Team season officially started in early November, but many of the competitors have been working on their pieces since the start of school. There are two different categories with many different events that a competitor can choose to his/her preference. The first category  is Public Speaking, consisting of events such as Declamation Speaking (performing a speech written by a person in history), Special Occasion Speaking (writing and performing a speech taking a stance on an important issue), or Radio Speaking (cutting and Delivering a news broadcast). Student of the Week: Jeremy Yoon

Jeremy Yoon is a senior  at Centennial, and  has proved himself to be an outstanding student. He is involved in the school’s jazz and concert band and has a great love for music. He stands out academically in math and is on the math team and was also inducted to the Math Honor Society. He is an all-around great student, and for his high grade point average was also inducted into the National Honor Society. Through National Honor Society he also completes fifteen hours of service to the community each year. On top of being a great student, Jeremy has also been on the tennis team all three years and plans to continue for his senior year. For all of these reasons Jeremy was chosen as Student of the Week.
