AP Physics: Trying out the Trebuchet
Is it legal to build medieval war weapons? YES! Jill McLean’s AP Physics classes designed and built model trebuchets, which are catapults designed to launch objects. On Monday, March 11th, the classes were outside doing their trials for their trebuchets.
“The overall project was to build a life-size model of a trebuchet that could launch [a small object] a certain distance across the parking lot of Centennial,” senior Matthew Warren said.
The students’ trebuchets were graded based on accuracy, efficiency and other categories.
