Spanish III Social Action Project

by Jiłah Maldonado

In all of Centennial’s Spanish III classes, students and teachers have been collectively coming up with ideas in the hope for completing a social action project. The project is completely non-profit and would have the students volunteer so it is by no means required for those who may have plans or those who are simply not interested. However, for those individuals who have not volunteered before, this project may be a great experience to participate in and spend time with friends while helping Champaign and its people. There are many options that students and teachers are currently voting on, so students may have the chance in volunteering for something that peaks their individual interests.

Possible Volunteer Projects:

-Canned Food Drive
-School Supply Drive/Backpacks
-Undies/Toiletries Drive
-Shoe Drive
-Board Game Drive
-Volunteer at Soup Kitchen
-Habitat for Humanity
-Money Collection
-Read to the Elderly at Nursing Homes
-Collect Toys and food for Humane Society
-Gardening
-Babysitting
-Clothes Drive for Homeless
-Easter Baskets for Kids/Nursing Homes
-Easter Egg Hunt for Orphanage

-Jukebox Healing MP3 Player/Ipod Drive
-Austin’s Day Participation
