The Centinal always picks a different student each week to write an article on, but I decided to switch it up a little bit and write an article on Amy Westfield. Personally, she is my favorite teacher I’ve ever had and someone I look up to. Westfield has worked at Centennial for 20 years, teaching Spanish. Westfield is involved in working out with Katie Bednar Monday through Friday. She loves to cook and watch baseball. Especially if her kids are playing.
Westfield led the dance team to nationals in 2004. “We went to Nationals a number of years, but the best year was 2004 when we placed 11th in the nation! Great senior class leaders” says Westfield. Her favorite moment at Centennial is every year when graduation rolls around, she enjoys seeing the progress and growth kids have made throughout their high school career. Westfield is not only an outstanding person, but an amazing teacher; she genuinely cares for each and every student and always pushed us to do our best. I’ve had Westfield for 2 years now, Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 and she is one of my hardest teachers, but she makes sure you understand what’s going on and helps you get the grade you want; this is why I decided to write this article about her and make her teacher of the week.
