Thanks to student council, we are lucky enough to have another fun-filled Homecoming Week full of many activities, including a few slight changes from last year. This year’s dance, themed “A Sweet Night in Candyland,” is sure to be something memorable!
Themed days the week of the dance have been, and will continue to be, a Centennial tradition. This year there will be new additions, including the return of Decade Day and the return of Jersey Day! Although new days have been thrown into the mix, the classics still remain: Class Color Day, Twin Day, and School Spirit Day.
Along with themed days, there are many exciting events planned for the evenings. Kicking off the week on Thursday is macho volleyball, followed by the always competitive powderpuff football game. Fast forwarding to Friday, the fun continues with the pep rally, the Homecoming parade, the chili supper, the tailgate, and the much anticipated Centennial vs. Urbana football game.
The Centinal asked a senior football player, Ryan Grizzard, what his favorite part of Homecoming Week was, and he said, “My favorite part of the week is probably the pep rally because it’s the most hype and everyone is there.”
To top off the week is the Homecoming dance! Held on Saturday, September the 28th from 7 to 10pm, “A Sweet Night in Candyland” is sure to be a night to remember!
