The last week of a semester is full of stressful students who are cramming studies before finals. There are many things you can do that will help make the final process less stressful and it can help your overall grade.
A good nights sleep before finals is a crucial part in your performance. Students who are exhausted can’t concentrate on exams. Cramming the night before can actually reduce the amount of information you remember. So get to bed at a decent time and get your 8 to 9 hours of sleep.
The morning before your tests, you should make sure to have a good breakfast. No, this doesn’t mean get a McDonald’s sandwich and greasy hash browns! Make your self eggs, turkey bacon, and whole wheat toast with a side of fruit. This will give you the energy to focus on your finals. Don’t eat too little otherwise your grumbling stomach could distract from your test. Also, pack dry cereal, a granola bar, apple, or banana. This will keep you satisfied while you concentrate.
Study a little bit each day. When you study too much at one time, your mind gets overloaded and you won’t remember all that you need to. Fill out your study guides and get friends to make a study group. This can be beneficial to your studying while you quiz each other. Make sure you stay on task! Gossiping, tweeting, and texting can wait a couple hours!
Make sure you have all your materials for test day! Multiple #2 pencils, erasers, and calculators! Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, tissues, and Advil in case you get a headache. Remember, be on time and don’t panic and stay confident!
