“The best part of being a CU Scholar is meeting new people while volunteering for my community”, says Sophomore Conner Hemming. Champaign-Urbana scholars is a great opportunity for high school students to get out and be involved in their communities. Students can get involved with the C-U scholar’s organization by signing up at registration before every new school year.
There is a new club starting at Centennial High School. Fashion club an amazing new idea from senior, Kieryn Alexander and Charlie Weinberg. Fashion club meets every Thursday in Charlie Weinbergs room and is welcome to everyone. If you would like to attend a meeting become a part of this amazing new club, Talk to Kieryn Alexander or Ariam Tesfaye or just show up at any meeting you can!
“It is so neat seeing your peers work together so passionately for such special families” said Dance Marathon president Grace Khachaturian. Dance marathon meets in the choir room every Wednesday morning at 8:10 where students and faculty get together and discuss the exciting plans they have for the upcoming year. Students and any faculty members are welcome to come to any meetings and get involved.
“Being a part of a society like Spanish Honors Society is really important for college applications,” Katie Rahn, leader and organizer for the club, says. “There is a bit more of a commitment than there is for a normal club, but that commitment is well worth it!” This week I talked with her about Spanish Honors Society and its benefits.
