Charger Spotlight: Dance Marathon

by Emmaline Rapier

“It is so neat seeing your peers work together so passionately for such special families” said Dance Marathon president Grace Khachaturian. Dance marathon meets in the choir room every Wednesday morning at 8:10 where students and faculty get together and discuss the exciting plans they have for the upcoming year. Students and any faculty members are welcome to come to any meetings and get involved.

Another way students can get involved is to register for the 2015 Dance Marathon event, here at Centennial in the choir room, and come hear the amazing stories from the miracle children and their families. As well as coming to meetings and registering for this years Dance Marathon, the group encourages students to fundraise any time they can for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Students should know that dance marathon would change their lives in countless ways, for the better. It teaches perspective, gratitude, hope, real joy, and determination. Khachaturian states that, “The best part of being a part of this group is the perspective and gratitude it teaches and the community it brings.” Dance Marathon brings Centennial’s student body together for a great cause. Students will build relationships with miracle children and their families that will touch their lives forever.

Dance Marathon strives to raise as much money as possible for the kids at St. John’s Children’s Hospital in Springfield every year. Their goal for this year is to grow the event to be as big and successful as it can be. They will have upcoming events on posters throughout the school as well as in the announcements so keep your eyes and ears open. For the kids!
