“With an all new coaching staff and a new style of play, we are looking forward to a successful volleyball season,” says head coach Alan Newman. Volleyball had tryouts this summer in late August. From tryouts until the first day of school volleyball participated in 3 practices a day. Tuesdays and Thursdays are usually game days for the Chargers with Freshman at 5, JV at 6, and Varsity closing out the night at 7.
“Although volleyball is very time consuming, it’s a good balance between being challenging and being fun,” says senior Devin Kyler. The Chargers made some team goals for the season that include winning conference, and getting to state. “You make so many new friends and really get to bond with the team,” says senior Marybeth Duncan when asked what her favorite part of being on the team is.
The Chargers are really looking for a good student section this year and want all of you to come out and cheer them on with the hopes of a successful season.
