Charlie Hebdo Terrorist Attack Janurary 7th

Wednesday January 7th was a day that will go down in history not only as a tragic day for journalists everywhere, but for the entire world and the right to free speech. A small faction of the widely recognized terrorist group Al-Qaeda attacked the offices of Charlie Hebdo, a satirical left-wing magazine widely known for its political cartoons, which usually poke fun at religion , along with many other controversial topics. The attack was planned in an effort to stop these images from being published.

Stuart Scott was a longtime ESPN and SportsCenter anchor and sportscaster. In 2007, Scott learned that his appendix was cancerous. Scott was diagnosed again in 2011 and 2013.

NFL Conference Championship Wrap-Up

There was much to talk about for one of the two games on Sunday, and not much to talk about the other. An impossible comeback…and a savage beating that has resulted in a team under investigation.

Charger Archery Team Shoots Ahead

The Charger Archery Team competed this past Saturday at the Armstrong-Potomac 10M Tournament.  It was a smaller tournament with only a total of four schools competing; Armstrong-Potomac (elementary, junior high, high school), Next Generation (elementary, junior high), Jefferson Middle School and Centennial High School.  Our two teams won 1st and 3rd place trophies in the high school division.​  We also had many medalists.

The NFL’s Divisional Round Wrap-up

“Playoffs? We’re talking about playoffs?” Indeed we are Herm Edwards. Eight teams remained in the running for the Lombardi Trophy. The 12-4 Seattle Seahawks, The 12-4 Green Bay Packers, 11-5 Dallas Cowboys, and the 7-8-1 underdog, Carolina Panthers rounded out the NFC.
