With eleven running seasons, 236 episodes, and a fan base of about 20 million people per show, Grey’s Anatomy remains the most popular hospital drama since 2005. Although it was extremely difficult to pick, here is some of the 10 most noteworthy episodes starting with Season 1. -WARNING, SPOILER ALERTS-
Season 1, Episode 1: “A Hard Day’s Night” The first episode of Grey’s Anatomy is a must. The first episode is the introductory of all of the interns on their first night shift at Seattle Grace Hospital. Cristina and Meredith become friends, Alex is known as the jerk, and Izzy and George are both the glue that holds the dysfunctional clan together.
Season 1, Episode 9: “Who’s Zoomin’ Who?” This episode is especially noteworthy because the interns get syphillis.
Season 5, Episode 24: “Now or Never” I personally bawled like a baby during this episode. You can never prepare yourself enough for the ending of this episode.
Season 6, Episode 23 and 24: “Sanctuary” and “Death and All His Friends” Come on. Even the titles are contradictions. This two-parter includes a hospital intruder, an armed man with a grudge held against one of the surgeons. Several of Seattle Grace’s favorites are killed and McDreamy’s life is on the line.
Season 7, Episode 22: “Unaccompanied Minor” Meredith and Derek have relationship issues, Mark admits his love for Lexi, Teddy and Henry are hooking up, and Cristina pregnant? WHAT?!
Season 8, Episode 21: “Moment of Truth” The interns go through their oral boards, and April acts on stress and makes some life changing decisions regarding Jackson – the beautiful coworker.
Season 8, Episode 24: “Flight” There is a desperate plane crash which changes the life of the victims for the rest of the seasons to come. Another favorite character dies.
Season 9, Episode 2: “Remember the Time” This is another episode directly after the plane crash, where the survivors deal with PTSD.
Season 9, Episode 24: “Perfect Storm” Literally everything goes wrong in this episode. A power outage, emergency C-sections, cheating, love confessions, and electrocutions. What a way to wrap up Season 9!
