Centennial Students Save Lives

by Gina Huss

On Friday, May 8th, Centennial hosted a blood drive in the Aldridge Auditorium. 80 people from the school donated this year. Each donor could help save three lives!

Lauren Barnhart, a senior from the club Interact, was one of the people who helped set up the blood drive. She told us that a good number of the people that came this year, were repeaters from last year. It took about half an hour to set up in the auditorium. Interact volunteers helped throughout the day helping to keep the whole thing running smoothly.

Rachel Mihm, a sophomore at Centennial, participated in the blood drive this year. She told The Centinal, “I chose to donate because I’ve always wanted to and wondered what it was like. I also wanted to help people who needed the blood.” She told us that her experience was great and the nurses were very kind and helpful. She would definitely donate again!

Kristi Bruce, a junior at Centennial, also participated in the blood drive. She said, “I donated because it’s a good cause and I enjoyed doing it.” She also said that she would do it again!
