Until We See You Again, Mrs. Westfield

by Michael A Pearson Jr

This week Chargers were sad to learn that Spanish Teacher Mrs. Amy Westfield is leaving Centennial.  She has been hired as the Interim Dean of Students position at the International Prep Academy.

Westfield began her teaching career at Centennial High School in 1993 and has been working here since. She has had an impact on many students and teachers during her time here. “She has mentored me and guided me, she’s a great leader she will do well over there, she said she’s coming back and that makes me feel okay.” Says fellow Spanish teacher Pete Schmitt. “I’m gonna miss her a lot, she’s a fantastic teacher. I wish her good luck, I think she’ll do great over there.” Says another fellow Spanish teacher Katie Bednar.

Westfield is set to return to Centennial during August of 2016 to resume her duties here. “The decision is a very difficult one with many mixed emotions. Having the kind of relationships I have with my students and with colleagues made the decision even more difficult. This is no ‘good-bye’, but rather ‘see ya’ll later’” says Mrs. luck, we’ll miss her, and we can’t for her return.
