Charger of the Week: Veronica Payton

Veronica Payton is a senior at Champaign Centennial High School. She is very involved in our school’s dance team, African American Club, NHS, and Interact. Veronica is a very sweet person, you can always see her in a positive mood and smiling throughout the halls of Centennial.

What do you enjoy most about Centennial?

My AVID class, it’s like a safe place for me to be in difficult times. I really love my AVIDclass.

What are your favorite hobbies?

Dancing.

What’s your favorite food?

Mexican.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

I would live in the Bahamas because of the warm weather, nice beaches and beautiful people.

If you were given a million dollars for one day, what would you do with it?

I would buy a car, a house for my family, stock trading and then give the rest to whoever is in need.

Veronica has impacted almost every life she has stepped into especially one of her dance partner and close friend Brittany Moore. Brittany has known Veronica for up to 3-4 years now and they seem to get each other very well. Brittany would describe Veronica as beautiful, talented, trustworthy, understanding, kind but real and amazing. When they dance together it motivates Brittany to go hard or be on the same level as Veronica because of her dancing talents. She will miss always being with her and enjoying lots of moments together in high school.
